💼 Weekly Group Mentorship Details
Class assignments are dynamic and catered to the interests and goals of the group — ideal for portfolio prep. You may request custom demos and get critiques on personal animation projects. Limited to 6 live online students.
Mentorships aren’t just about learning how to animate, but also about learning how to navigate the art world with an instructor that has already done so. You’ll be given a place to explore your artistic passions while learning valuable information about digital animations, portfolios, careers, and art opportunities.

Explore the 12 principles of animation with mini step by step projects to learn the art of making things move. Learn various techniques such as the squash and stretch principle and the S+C curve using Krita, a free program! Lesson recordings and assignments for each week will be released on the dates below:

🗓️ Animation 2 | Jan 14 - Feb 18, 2025
Dig deeper into advanced animation techniques and principles, including a walk cycle and moving background. An open project offers students the chance to bring a subject of their choice to life with guidance from a professional. Lesson recordings and assignments for each week will be released on the dates below:

Note: Although they are recommended to be taken together, you may choose to attend Animation 1 and Animation 2 separately.
If you'd like to attend a single week, you may register for a drop in on that date. Drop ins are also invited to attend the LIVE critique!
✍ Art Materials
This animation class focuses on traditional (hand-drawn) animation techniques but is taught digitally, so you can enjoy the efficiency of digital art shortcuts! Students are welcome to use Krita, (a free and robust program we recommend) Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, or any digital software if they are familiar with the animation tools.
Recommended Programs:

Note: Feel free to use any program you're familiar with. Most offer similar tools, but some are able to create animations.

Equipment for Virtual Art Classes:
For the best online experience, we recommend using a webcam and mic so our teacher may provide instant feedback. Students without a webcam/mic may use text chat, and get individual feedback online through Google Classrooms.
