Do you love designing characters, drawing anime or illustrating comics, and you’re now ready to level up your drawing skills? Learn all about advanced cartooning concepts such as perspective, comic drawing, cel shading, character design, accessory / clothing design, storyboarding, and more in this virtual art class! Learn how to draw from professional artists in small live online classes and get personalised guidance on your artwork!

This live online art class is an easy and fun way to learn how to elevate your cartooning and anime from the convenience of your home. This class is designed for teens and adults of any age with some previous experience with cartooning & anime!

🤓 What to Expect in Class

Every week, your artist instructor will introduce a different subject, and we’ll practice new techniques together, step by step! Beginner Drawing uses dry mediums such as pencil, pencil crayons, pastels or markers. Art materials are flexible, and your instructor can provide guidance on other mediums you’re curious to try!

Most beginner drawing projects are completed in a single class, and kids have the option to show their teacher artwork on camera for feedback / guidance throughout the lesson. During your 1 hour online art lesson, your instructor will demonstrate each step of the drawing process live, and support each individual with in-class check-ins and feedback.

Students may also submit their drawings to Google Classroom to get written feedback from their instructor – even in between classes! With virtual learning, students are able to keep drawing long after class ends — because sometimes you’re on a roll, and you can keep the creativity going!

Advanced Cartooning & Anime (now Cartooning & Anime Level 2) is a great online art enrichment program for artists of all ages from 12 to adult. The program is designed to complement Canadian school curriculum guidelines and is structured and thoughtfully planned every term using our unique teaching method and the latest art trends and design innovations.

Advanced Cartooning & Anime projects may include:

Character & creature design
Environmental design in 1 to 3-point perspective
Outfit design based on visual storytelling
Facial structure and anatomical stylization
Advanced comic creation
Semi-realistic shading and lighting techniques

Equipment for Virtual Art Classes:

For the best online experience, we recommend using a webcam and mic so our teacher may provide instant feedback. Students without a webcam/mic may use text chat, and get individual feedback online through Google Classrooms.
