ART PARTIES - FAQ
Payment & Fees
Can I book an art party even if I don’t know all of the details yet?
Yes! Register as soon as you decide on the date, so we can hold it for you, even if you don’t know all of the details yet. A non-refundable deposit of $50 is required to reserve an art party time slot. All party details (party theme, number of participants, etc.) must be confirmed 7 days before the party date.
If a theme is not chosen, a popular seasonal and age-appropriate theme will be chosen on your behalf. Party start and end times must be scheduled in accordance with our regular programming (classes, workshops, etc.) and studio holidays so that there is no overlap.
How is the tax amount determined?
Unless otherwise stated, prices are listed in Canadian dollars and do not include taxes. Any applicable tax will be charged in addition to the listed price. Tax rates vary by country, province, and/or territory, these rates can change over time with local tax requirements.
What happens if we need to reschedule the party date?
If you wish to change your party date, we will do our best to accommodate you within our availability. If you need to cancel your party, you will be issued a refund minus the non-refundable $50 deposit.
What if a participant doesn’t show up?
Unfortunately, we don’t issue refunds for guests that don’t show up. If there are guests missing, another person is welcome to participate in the activity in their place.
What if my guests stay past my booked time?
For parties that stay over their booked time, the party host will be charged $30 per half hour.
Virtual Party Space
Are parties hosted on Zoom?
We don't use Zoom for our virtual gatherings -- we have our own private video conferencing server that works like Zoom, but it's more secure, and hosted in Toronto! We will send party guests a direct link to join the party using Chrome browser; no need to install anything else!
Can I join on my phone or tablet?
Yes! If guests are joining on a mobile device or tablet, they will need to download the Jitsi Meet app. Then they can join by clicking on the party room link!
Can you host the party on my platform?
Yes! If you're booking a private event that is hosted elsewhere, or a corporate party that is on a private network, we can join your platform as a guest! We've used Skype, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and others! In this case, we will do a test before your party date to make sure everything works ahead of time.
How do my guests interact virtually?
Like Zoom, our virtual party space allows guests to interact using their cameras, mics, and through text chat! Guests may also share their screens. The virtual room allows you to toggle your view between each person and the group.
Invitations & Supplies
Do you supply invitations?
We have e-invitations that can be downloaded if you're inviting guests via email. If you’re planning a painting party, please remind your guests to dress for mess!
Are art supplies provided?
We do not provide art materials, but we do provide lists of recommended supplies that are easy and affordable. Digital Art parties don't require any materials as guests can draw using a free program called Medibang Paint Pro.
Participants & Supervision
How many adults would you recommend to help supervise a Children's Art Party?
At least one parent/guardian is required to be present at the party. With online parties, we recommend parents in the room to supervise their child and help children under 6 with the activities. Adults who are supervising are not charged as guests.
Can adults participate in a Children’s Art Party too?
The children’s art party doesn’t have to be only for the kids! If adults want to join in the fun as well, the party host will need to include them in the number of participants. If a child is sick and can no longer attend the party, the adult supervisors are more than welcome to take the child’s place. The inclusion of adult participants in the party participant number will be at the discretion of the party host and should be relayed to us with all other party details.
What is the minimum age for children's parties?
We have no minimum age to participate in children’s parties! If the child is under 4 years of age, we do recommend adult assistance with the art activity as the party facilitator may not be able to give a detailed level of attention to every participating child.
How will photos be taken at the party?
Our staff is happy to help you take a group photo for your party. We also take photos of guests and their artwork for our website and future promotional purposes, and we sometimes share these photos on our Facebook and Instagram. We respect your privacy, so please let us know if you would prefer to opt out and not be featured on social media. We do not post names on social media.
