We're an online visual arts school specializing in 🎨 virtual art classes, camps, and art mentorship. Our instructors are professional illustrators, designers, and animators with a passion for teaching.
We pop into classrooms for memorable learning experiences with school workshops, and support fellow educators with art resources for teachers. We livestream and make art videos weekly on YouTube and take pride in helping people access free, quality arts education from anywhere!
Reviews and comments from students, parents, and YouTube viewers.
The team at Winged Canvas are passionate creative professionals from a variety of backgrounds including illlustration, concept art, animation and design. Many of us are graduates of renowned art schools!
We’re a family of like-minded art nerds who share the same passion for arts education.

Winged Canvas first opened on Feb 15, 2014 and was founded by artist Fei Lu and her partner Aaron Fruman in Markham, Ontario. For 7 years, we were a vibrant art school and gallery who served our local community.
In 2020, we transformed into an online art school with a mission to make art and creativity easily accessible. Now our students can attend classes from home, or anywhere!
We challenge the notion of “the starving artist” by showing the world how artists shape the future of humanity. We are the tireless art nerds advocating for artistic literacy and leading better arts education.
Our goal is to cultivate a thriving art community by helping aspiring artists, art educators and art enthusiasts.
